After hearing reports of delays, we've all been left a little confused as to when to expect availability of Intel's upcoming Ivy Bridge processor line-up. Swedish website, Sweclockers, however, believes it has obtained Intel's latest release schedule, featuring new dates.
If the information is correct, it looks as though we'll be seeing somewhat of a staged roll-out, with Ivy Bridge-focused, socket LGA 1155, motherboards cropping up first, from the original release date of April 8th, featuring the Z77, Z75, H77 and B75 chipsets.
The press release of Ivy Bridge is expected on April 29th; this is when we'll have the pleasure of introducing you to benchmarks of the new platform, with full disclosure of the new architecture's workings. However, Sweclockers stressed that it wasn't clear if this was the exact day Ivy Bridge processors would be available in stock or, if they are to reach stores shortly thereafter.
Finally, on June 3rd, we should see portable Ivy Bridge cores hit the market, with the launch of Q77 and Q75 chipsets, along with dual-core processor offerings for notebooks and Ultrabooks.
Let's just hope that Sweclocker's information regarding the desktop release is spot-on and, that an Ivy Bridge release will still take place in April at the very least.
